F.A.Q.

Custom cabinets can be designed to match your unique style and preferences. Whether you want a contemporary look, a traditional style, or something eclectic, you can achieve it with custom cabinetry. You also have the freedom to choose the materials, finishes, and hardware that fit your design vision. The primary advantages of custom cabinetry revolve around their adaptability to specific spaces, design preferences, lifestyle needs, and the overall quality and longevity they offer.

Custom cabinets usually cost between $400 and $1,400+ per linear foot. The cost of custom cabinets can vary depending on several factors, including the materials chosen, the complexity of the design, accessories, and size of the project. As each project is unique, we recommend scheduling a free consultation with us to discuss your specific needs and budget. During this initial meeting, we can provide you with a comprehensive quote based on your inspirational pictures, existing kitchen layout, or any plans you have. And we’ll do our best to work within your budget. There is no cost for the preliminary meeting and quote.

While we don't have a traditional showroom open to the public, we offer something even better – a working office room at our woodworking facility. You'll have the chance to explore a wide range of samples including solid wood choices, veneer options, custom stain colors, different finish techniques, and a variety of materials such as aluminum profile doors, super matte slabs, deep-textured laminates, CLEAF material collection, EGGER material collection, MIRLUX material collection, and more. During your visit, we'll take you on a tour of our plant, where you can witness several projects in various stages of completion. We believe that this immersive experience provides you with a comprehensive understanding of our craftsmanship and product offerings.
Our frameless and face frame cabinets are primarily crafted from high-quality materials such as maple or cherry wood and furniture-grade plywood. Some door styles incorporate a Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) center panel. This industry-standard choice ensures greater resistance to changes in temperature and humidity, providing long-lasting durability. Our euro frameless cabinets feature high-tech acrylics laminated to either 0.75" plywood or 0.75" white birch engineered wood.
Yes, it is possible to have LED lights included in your custom cabinet order for an additional cost. LED lighting is widely favored for its ability to improve both the functionality and visual appeal of cabinets. Keep in mind that adding LED lights to your cabinets may also require considerations such as wiring, power sources, and controls. Your cabinetmaker or contractor can help determine the best approach and ensure that the LED lights are integrated seamlessly into your custom cabinets.
Absolutely! All of our cabinets come standard with soft-close drawers and doors. This feature ensures smooth and quiet closing, adding a touch of luxury and convenience to your kitchen.

We are delighted to work with homeowners directly, and many homeowners approach us with inspirational pictures, rough sketches or a well-developed design concept. Our expertise lies in transforming your design ideas into reality. With over 10 years of cabinet building experience, we have gained extensive knowledge in design and can assist you throughout the process, depending on the complexity of your project. Whether you have a clear vision or need guidance in bringing your ideas to life, our team is here to support you every step of the way. Our goal is to ensure that you achieve the kitchen of your dreams.

On average, our standard lead time is around 6-10 weeks from the time we have all the material selections, list of appliances, approved shop drawings, and a material deposit. Lead times can also be influenced by factors such as the availability of premium materials from different vendors and the procurement of specific accessories from various stores. Keep in mind that we require 1-4 weeks to produce shop drawings and finalize the design details of the project.

    Design Trends in San Francisco

San Francisco’s rich cultural tapestry and historical background have created a diverse array of architectural and design styles. Among these, cabinetry stands out as a prominent reflection of the city’s evolving aesthetic tastes. Here’s an expanded look at the prevalent styles that have influenced San Francisco’s cabinetry:

Victorian Style: San Francisco is iconic for its Victorian-era homes, and this influence seamlessly extends to its cabinetry. Victorian cabinets tend to have ornate detailing, invoking a sense of age and grandeur. They are crafted typically from traditional woods such as oak, cherry, or mahogany. Hand-carved designs, decorative inlays, and antique finishes are hallmarks of this style. Moreover, the ornamental molding is often used to mirror the overarching architectural style of Victorian homes.

Modern/Contemporary Style: A stark contrast to the Victorian style is the Modern or Contemporary design. As the epicenter of technological advancement, San Francisco has a penchant for designs that encapsulate this forward momentum. Contemporary cabinetry emphasizes simplicity, functionality, and elegance. You’ll find cabinets with clean, unbroken lines, minimalistic or hidden hardware, and the extensive use of lighter woods, laminates, or even painted finishes to achieve that sleek look.

Craftsman Style: A nod to the Arts and Crafts movement that burgeoned during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Craftsman-style cabinets are another favorite in San Francisco homes. They spotlight the inherent beauty of wood and meticulous craftsmanship. You will notice a distinct lack of overly ornate designs; instead, there’s a focus on sturdy construction, functional design, and an aesthetic that lets the natural grain and character of the wood shine through.

Eclectic Style: The melting pot nature of San Francisco gives rise to eclectic design choices. This style is all about individual expression and can be a blend of various design elements. Think vintage cabinets painted in bold, contemporary colors or an unusual pairing of materials and finishes. An eclectic style defies categorization and often stands as a unique representation of the homeowner’s personal tastes.

Sustainable Style: In alignment with San Francisco’s commitment to sustainability and eco-conscious living, there’s a growing trend towards sustainable cabinetry. Here, you will find cabinets made from reclaimed wood, bamboo, or other environmentally friendly materials. Finishes and adhesives used are typically low-VOC or VOC-free, ensuring minimal environmental impact. Moreover, manufacturers and businesses in this space prioritize practices that reduce carbon footprints.

Asian-Influenced Style: The city’s robust Asian-American community brings a wealth of cultural influences, including in the realm of cabinetry. Asian-inspired cabinets might incorporate the modular design of tansu chests or the understated elegance of Ming Dynasty furniture. Clean lines, efficient use of space, and minimalist design principles are common features. Additionally, materials like bamboo and finishes that reflect traditional Asian aesthetics may be used.

In essence, San Francisco’s cabinetry is not just about storage – it’s a testament to the city’s eclectic history, culture, and commitment to innovation and sustainability. Whether you’re refurbishing a Victorian mansion or outfitting a modern loft, the city offers a plethora of design inspirations to cater to every taste and need.
